DLF is all set to invest Rs.550 crore in Chennai with a total commercial area of 14million sq. ft. Chennai is going to witness a great infrastructure platform after Gurugram by DLF. Chennai is DLF’s second-largest market investment after Gurugram in the past years. The Standard Chartered Global Business Services campus is expected to be up and running by mid-2024. The DLF is expected to avail a rental income from its commercial projects to touch Rs.1300 crore once its new office campus in Taramani is ready to operate.

The DLF Downtown- Chennai project is spread over 27-acres and comprises a 6.5 million square foot area which is being developed by DLF Cyber City Developers Ltd (DCCDL) with an investment of Rs.5000 crore. The DLF Downtown Taramani is strategically located in the IT Corridor of Chennai and is close to the metro station.
The Managing Director of DLF, Sriram Khattar has said that an amount of Rs.1600 crore has already been spent on the project. He also said, the company has had a presence in the city for 17 years and operates the largest IT SEZ DLF Cybercity, Chennai at Manapakkam. Since its inception, the SEZ has contributed a cumulative revenue of about Rs.84,000 crore and has 70,000 working professionals.
When the project gets completed, the DLF Downtown will have a footprint of about 14 million square feet of commercial space in the city. This enormous and giant investment by DLF will make it the second-largest market after Gurugram.
DLF has made a great decision of hiring a globally renowned architectural firm Gensler from the US to design a sustainable and green campus to offer world-class office buildings with amenities and it will be very unique in Chennai. The project is designed with world-class amenities and high-end specifications and has been also awarded a Platinum LEED Certification by US Green Building Council.
