PM Launched 1.7 lakhs E-property card under Svamitva Scheme in Madhya Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed 1, 70,000 e-property cards to beneficiaries of Svamitva Scheme in Madhya Pradesh. The Svamitva scheme, introduced on 24th April, the National Panchayati Raj Day, after completing a pilot project (2020-2021) in nine states. Prime Minister along with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan interacted with the beneficiaries of the Svamitva (Survey of Villages and Mapping with improvised Technology in Village Areas) scheme via video conferencing. The scheme launched will help the urban people pave the way for using the property as financial assets to avail loans or any other benefits. 

The scheme aims to differentiate inhabitant lands in rural areas through the latest drone-surveying technology and boosts the country’s ecosystem of drone manufacturing. The scheme launched comes with the following objectives:

  • Creating accurate land records for rural planning and minimize property related disputes
  • Enabling rural citizens to use their property as financial assets for availing of loans and other financial benefits
  • Creating survey infrastructure and GIS maps
  • Preparing Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) through GIS maps

The scheme was launched as a pilot project in some of the selected villages, including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and others. Almost 22 lakhs properties have been made ready for distribution, and now the scheme will be implemented across the country.
