YEIDA 206-acre EMC Project Advancing Northern India’s Electronics Sector

The Government of India’s EMC 2.0 path breaking initiative in collaboration with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is strategically located in sector 10 near the upcoming Noida International Airport. The estimated cost of this project is ₹485 crore and its completion is scheduled for 31 January 2028. Financial assistance is shared between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and YEIDA.

The financial assistance of  ₹144.5 crore will be provided by MeitY, while the remaining financial assistance of ₹341 crore will be offered by YEIDA.

This 206-acre EMC project is a game changer in electronics manufacturing sector that aims to establish the Yamuna Expressway as an advanced hub  of electronics manufacturing and foster industrial growth in the region. As per the EMC scheme, out of  206-acre approximately 122 acres, which is nearly 59 percent of the total land is designated as the total saleable area. Out of this saleable area, 106 acres of area is  designated for industrial plots, while the remaining 16 acres  of area is designated to ready-built factory sheds and a flatted factory complex.

The flatted factory complex will offer two factory buildings comprising total 176 units divided into major three categories: 120 square meters for 34 units, 90 square meters for 48 units, and 60 square meters for 94 units. The objective behind the construction of these units is to support diverse manufacturers and establish a well-balanced ecosystem for electronics production.

50 acres of land has been already allotted by YEIDA to Havells India Ltd. This planned investment of ₹800 crore by Havells India Ltd. primarily focus on manufacturing a range of home and consumer appliances, that comprise of fans, air coolers, lighting products, switchgear, and electrical cables. Employment of approximately 1,000 individuals is expected as the commercial operations commence by 2026. Besides, Havells, four other electronics manufacturing organizations  have expressed their keen interest in running their manufacturing operations within the cluster. These four manufacturing companies that have received the Letters of Intent (LOIs) are Dixon Technologies  availing 22 acres , Ascent-K Circuit  to set up their high-end printed circuit board plant in 16 acres, Aurionpro Toshi Automatic Systems, received five acres to set up industrial automation and smart mobility solutions, and Neenjas Electric availing a huge area of a 10,000-square-metre. However, all of these four LOIs are under review with the state government and waiting for approval.

As per, Mr. Shailendra Bhatia (an officer on Special Duty at the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority) statement the objective behind establishing this huge infrastructure is to support electronics manufacturing companies comprehensively that also encompass investment across sectors like industrial, automotive, consumer, and electronics in healthcare sector.  Not only this but organizations in manufacturing telecom equipment, computer hardware, e-mobility, and communication systems can find the EMC 2.0 cluster highly supportive for growth. To boost the regional industrial development, EMC 2.0 cluster can work as a catalyst that not only bring huge investment but also generate employment opportunities for individuals. This initiative by the Government of India will establish Yamuna Expressway as a major electronics manufacturing  hub of northern India boosting the state and the national economic growth.
